Why Choose DogsInsight

We will be able to help you and your dogs.
We’ve enjoyed years of success, helping 100s of dogs and their families.
We have had a lot of hands-on experience dealing with every situation from the dogs apparently auditioning to be the next Hound of the Baskervilles to those too scared to leave the safety of their home (and everything in between)
So, how do we help you?
When it comes to training: One size does NOT fit all. All dogs are individuals and every situation is unique in some way or another, so we adapt to the situation rather than try and adapt the situation to us.
We will come to your home to meet the dogs and everyone involved in their lives. We do this because all issues start from the home and the solutions are found there too, and yes, that includes out walking and meeting other dogs etc.
The initial 3 hour session includes an Assessment and a Consultation i.e a Plan of action that covers the many topics that are relevant to your situation. Basically, it lays the secure foundation for you to build upon and the more involved you get the more improvement you will see.
We will, where possible, explain, demonstrate and ensure you know how to do what you need to do in order to improve the situation.
We are different to most other Trainers in several ways, for example, we do not believe in the extensive use of treats to try and “bribe” your dogs. Especially when dogs don’t actually reward each other with food for being good!
In fact, we don’t use any gimmicks at all, we believe in using things that you would normally have with you ie your body and your voice.
We see things from the Dogs perspective and help you communicate with them in a way that they can actually understand.
Where practical, appropriate and possible you will also get 2 trainers for (often much less than) the price of 1. This gives us a lot of training options and is beneficial in so many ways. A good example of the benefit of having 1 male and 1 female trainer is when helping rescue/re-homed dogs who may have had unpleasant experiences with unfamiliar men or women.
If you have more than 1 dog, PLEASE tell us, even though you may think that only 1 dog has a problem, the whole family/pack has a part to play in resolving any issues. Unlike a lot of Trainers we will not charge you per dog.
Many of our clients have told us that they have spoken to Trainers who won’t visit their dogs due to its breed. We do not agree with this prejudgemental “version” of the BSL (Breed Specific Law).
We genuinely enjoy what we do and we like to make it Fun! We want your dogs, and yourselves to enjoy the sessions.

Oh yes, we are actually good at what we do!
The Covid Pandemic had a huge impact upon Dog ownership and as a result on training and behavioural issues. We can help you with the issues caused by the Pandemic.

Testimonials
“You’re miracle workers! Bella hasn’t barked at any customers this morning. I’ve made her sit and wait, she had a little grumble and that was about it, I’m amazed!”
“Thank you SO much. You have helped tremendously and I already feel much more in control and less anxious. You were so calm, unhurried, communicative and above all everything you said made sense. So pleased I found you.”
“I was starting to think that I would have to rehome her and had been in touch with the Dogs Trust. But now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I cannot thank you enough!”
